The definitive list of the best races in America returns for its fourth year in a totally reimagined format
Portland, OR – BibRave, the running industry leader in grassroots digital marketing, recently opened nominations for the 4th edition of The BibRave 100: A Definitive List of the Best Races in America. In light of all the cancellations related to the COVID-19 crisis, the 2020 list will be “A Decade in Review,” highlighting the best races of the last 10 years and giving events some much-needed good news to highlight and promote.
By increasing the aperture to a larger time period, BibRave – creator and publisher of The BibRave 100 – sees the awards carrying even more significance this year, providing races with additional accolades and honors to power their event promotion in 2021.
After three successful years using runner insights, nominations, and votes to celebrate the best races in America, The BibRave 100 has also been featured in several Runner’s World pieces (70 American Road Races Every Runner Should Finish and 10 Bucket List Marathons You Should Run in 2019) and has become a key tool in runners’ race planning toolkits.
The 2020 edition of The BibRave 100 will be comprised of the Top 20 Marathons, Top 20 Half Marathons, Top 20 races of 10 Miles or Less, and the Top 5 races in the following categories: Best Medals & Swag and Best Themed Race, along with NEW categories Best Virtual Race Experience, Best Bites & Bevvies, Best Relay Experience, Best Race-cation, and Toughest Race. Rounding out the list will be the 3rd annual Green Lion Award, awarded to the top five races that have integrated sustainable practices into their race operations to reduce the carbon footprint of their event. In addition to these finalists, the Top 5 Marathons, Half Marathons, and Races 10 Miles or Less will be ranked.
How Races Make The BibRave 100
The nomination period, when anyone can nominate a race for The BibRave 100, opened June 29 and runs through July 31, 2020. After gathering results from the nomination period, runners can cast their votes to decide the final order of The BibRave 100 from August 10 to August 31, 2020. Each race that makes the list will also get help from Benjamin, The BibRave 100’s plush lion mascot, plus a social media and press toolkit to help them use their inclusion to publicize and market their race.
