Hey, runners!
Episode 182 of The BibRave Podcast just DROPPED! This week, Tim and Jess interview Mark Remy – the creative wizard and hilarious “area man” behind what is essentially The Onion for runners, Dumb Runner.
Mark is a Portland, OR resident and former Runner’s World columnist who turned his passion for running and writing into a must-read site that makes fun of all things running. Most of his articles poke fun at dogs (Tim’s favorite – “‘He’s Friendly,’ Owner Assures Runner as Off-Leash Dog Pierces Carotid Artery”), runners being obnoxious (“Report: Running as Little as Once a Week Can Boost Ability to Talk Incessantly About Running”), or runners taking themselves too seriously (“World’s Social Media Users Eagerly Await Details of Man’s Latest Run”).
Tim and Jess talk with Mark over beers about Dumb Runner, how he approaches content creation, how bikes and cars differently threaten runners, his philosophy behind runner-supported content vs. advertisers, and plenty of other nerdy running stuff.

Listened to this while baking banana breakfast cookies this afternoon. I could easily relate to so many of the topics discussed. Getting to know Mark Remy and how he runs his business was an eye opener and so interesting. Stoked to learn he’s a fellow Portlander, too!
