Name: Meridith Daniel
Where I live… New Jersey, right outside of Philly
I’ve been a BibRave Pro for… One awesome year!
My main running goal for 2018 is: I am ready to kick my 5k PR up a level! I’ve been busy focusing on PRing in longer distances but my 5k PR (33:01) is actually from 2012. I’m want to get a sub-30 and I’m following a training plan that will hopefully get me there. But truly, at this point, I just want to break the 33:01 (that :01 kills me, by the way).
My running shoes are… Mizuno Wave Inspire 13. I am a Mizuno girl, all the way. It’s the brand I started running in 6 years ago and what works for me and my feet.
My favorite race distance is: 10k is the sweet spot!
My pre-race routine is: getting to the race super early. If I’m not there with time to spare, it really messes with my headspace. I usually either eat something light, like a banana or toast with PB. If I’m with a friend usually we talk about how the race seemed like a good idea X months ago when we signed up. I also decide beforehand if I’m planning on racing or just running for the fun of it.
My favorite races are… Ones where I have FUN!
My playlist consists of… I enjoy a bit of everything – Hamilton, Taylor Swift, Fitz and the Tantrums, OK Go… the list goes on!
My race day gear checklist includes: Garmin, Momentum Jewelry, Road ID – those are my must haves.
Why I like being a BibRave Pro: Everything. Seriously. I can’t think of a single thing to highlight because I’m so appreciative of it all: the community aspect, the friendship, the insightful reviews of both products and races, the opportunities I’ve had through the program, and I’m sure I could continue on!
Post-race I always eat… everything? No, no, not really. But sometimes I think I’d like to eat everything. But usually I have a banana first, since that’s standard post-race food. Plus, I have to get a banana-phone picture!
