Welcome back for Episode 74 of The BibRave Podcast! Make sure to check us out on Spotify – streaming all your favorite episodes from Team BibRave.
Tim and Jess host this week, and talk a little bit about Jess’s upcoming Disney Marathon weekend before diving in deep with special guest Ted Metellus who gives us a ring while on the road. Ted is the Director of Race Course Operations for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, and has won the Professional of the Year Award from the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety & Security – so he knows a thing or two about race operations and security.
Ted walks us through all the changes in the lead-up to Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas after the Oct 1, 2017 shootings took place across from the Mandalay Bay (the planned venue for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas pre-race concert and start line staging area). He also shares insight into ALL of the behind-the-scenes operational details that go into making sure us runners have smooth and seamless experiences on race day. Yes, there’s a reason you have to get to the start 1.5 hours early!
Most of all, you can feel how much Ted genuinely cares about his events, the communities he works with, and the runners on race day. Check out the latest episode below. Also, don’t forget to subscribe on Apple Podcasts, and if you like what you hear, please leave a review.
